Sister Act

Winston Churchill School
Performing Arts Faculty

Get in on the act, come join the congregation, as we celebrate the Winston Churchill Schools fabulous production of the Broadway and West End smash hit musical comedy Sister Act at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre this February. Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found, a Convent. Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music.

Grease is the word at The Winston Churchill School this February when the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies come to the Rhoda McGaw Theatre.

It’s 1959 at Rydell High School. Sandy Dumbrowski, the new girl in town, and Danny Zuko, the school’s coolest greaser, have a secret summertime romance – but when they get back to school, everything is different. Sandy attempts to navigate the tricky Rydell High School social waters and catch Danny’s attention again, but Danny is chiefly concerned with maintaining his tough-guy reputation. Can Danny maintain his cool dude status and still make demure Sandy his girl?  In the end, the Pink Ladies help Sandy figure out how to win back the leader of the T-Birds. Featuring the classic hits including, ‘Grease Lightnin’ and ‘We Go Together’, Grease recalls the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.
